Gamestop has told Kotaku that some of its stores in the U.S have knowingly broken the street date of Modern Warfare 2. Gamestop were the ones who signed off on the decision.
"The past weekend, Gamestop made the decision to break street date and sell reserved copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in select markets where other retailers had broken street date," said Gamestop's Chris Olivera. "Our decision followed many conversations with Activision and was an effort to protect our customer base."
"Activision has not given any retailer permission to sell Modern Warfare 2 prior to the November 10th street date. The company fully supports the November 10th street date," he concluded.
Buy the game tomorrow for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. The Wii gets its own version: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex.
