PS3 firme update 3.10 goes live, introduces Facebook functionality amongst other things

As I often say, rumors in the gaming industry most times turn out to be true, and yesterday, another one has left the rumor dog house and straight into reality.

Firmware update 3.10 incorporates Facebook into PSN alongside some other tweaks however, there has been no mention of cross-game-chat which is arguably the biggest request from service users. The new Facebook feature will give you the option to automatically update your status with trophy and PSN store activity.

The US PS Blog went on to stress that the new features were just the beginning of their integration with Facebook and they are looking forward to adding more to enhance the experience of PSN users.

Here are some of the highlights:

* Photo Category on the XMB has been revamped to make it easier to see more of your photos stored on the PS3.

* The PSN friends list has been modified based on feedback they received after update 3.0. Also, you can now choose a color for your PSN ID on the XMB.

Video's after the read with details of the upcoming update. Sony's working diligently to please PSN users, a very welcoming sign in an age where big companies only care about profit.
