It has been one of the many areas that Sony touts when talking-up their online service, The Playstation Network. They concede that the competitor's own have been around a bit longer, but that doesn't make it better, especially now with the strides that they've made, and according to them, "oh, and yes, it's still free."
"In its infancy, the Playstation Network began as a free service to gamers offering an online commerce option for games and game content," Kim Nguyen, Playstation 3 marketing manager said on the US PS Blog yesterday.
"Today, it offers an unrivaled social networking experience in Playstation Home, a robust video delivery service for purchasing and renting SD and HD content from every major studio, social networking applications like Facebook, instant streaming content from Netflix, and a rich selection of more than 450 games for PS3 and PSP.
And here's the last line the boss almost forgot to mention:
"Oh, and yes, it's still free."
Cannot not forget the most important part Kim, you could lose you job!
