Hollywood has the habit of totally obliterating our games don't they? From Hitman to Street Fighter, the final product is always underwhelming. So when news broke that Uncharted was going to Hollywood, fans of the franchise were nervous, and rightfully so. Columbia Pictures, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures is the company contracted with developing the film, and according to creative director of Naughty Dog Amy Hennig, there should be no worries, because "these guys really get it."
In a
recent interview, Amy was asked about the movie and whether there was anything she could share, and boy did she share a lot of info.
"It's definitely in the works, I can tell people. We've got the best possible partners we could in Columbia Pictures. If anybody's got any fears of them not understanding the material or not loving it as much as we do, the can wipe those fears away, because these guys really get it," Amy said.
"I can say from the meetings I've had with them so far, their hearts and their heads are absolutely in the right place."
There's plenty more info in the interview, and you could get the full vibe here, like when she was asked will Uncharted 3 be a PS3 game, or will it be for Sony's next console, to which she replied:
"I don't think I'm able to talk about any of that right now. On a completely general level, the PS3 is an amazing piece of hardware that both us and other developers are only now tapping into its full potential," she said.
"There' a lot of life in that box. That's really the best answer I can give," she concluded.
Really interesting stuff, wouldn't you say? Uncharted 2 is available now around the world. Read our full review
here. Do you think Uncharted 3 will be for the PS3 or PS4? We think they'll wait until the PS4 is released, but that's just our opinion.
