Rumor Thirst: Killzone 3 confirmed for 2011, could come in 2010

Let's be serious, most of the rumors that have made the rounds in the gaming world at some point tend to come to pass. Some examples: PS3 Slim rumor confirmed, PSPgo Rumor confirmed, 250GB Xbox 360 confirmed, the fazing out of Xbox 360 pro model confirmed. We could go on and on and eventually come to the conclusion that most the talk is not just hot air. Well let's hope this Killzone 3 rumor is no different from the aforementioned.

According to Eurogamer.de, Guerrilla Games has confirmed Killzone 3 on a Dutch TV show. The Animation director Jan-Bart Van Beek was on the TV show and let slip that Killzone 3 is in existence and that although the game could be released in 2010, the planned date is 2011.

We reported last month that Killzone 3 was one of the secret games of 2010 according to Playstation: The Official Magazine, it seems our report was accurate.

Don't hold your breath though, wait for an official announcement instead.

Sony Remains Mum On Killzone 3 Rumor

Sony has a fixed answer ready to release anytime something gets out that they didn't want to: "We don't comment on rumor or speculation." They did it when rumors of an impending price cut for the old Playstation fat hit the web, they did it when rumor about the PS3 Slim took over the internet. They recently did it when engadget spotted a 250GB PS3 Bundled with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

So you'd think when this megaton rumor about Killzone 3 shooting for a 2010 release broke, the Hardware giant would knock it down. Well, surprise, this haven't. It's more evidence that indeed, something is cooking.

Do you think releasing Killzone 3 next year is a good idea? Most likely Guerrilla will be using the same engine they took four years to fine tune, therefore producing the next installment should be fast and cost effective. We'll update you as soon as news concerning this story breaks.

Rumor Thirst: Killzone 3 coming in 2010

Listen, Killzone 2 in our opinion, is the best darn shooter to date. Period. And if this rumor is confirmed as true, PS3 fans will have more than enough exclusives to boot in 2010.

In the latest issue of Playstation: The Official Magazine, Killzone 3 is reportedly in development by Guerrilla Games according to the mag, and Sony is actually eyeing a 2010 release.

PTOM also made mention of Resistance 3 and World at War 2 from Treyarch, but Killzone 3? Now that's big news.

Since Killzone 2 was recently released on February 27th of this year, no one was expecting any information concerning another installment, at least not so soon.

It's a rumor though, so take with a grain of salt. Get the full vibe here.
