Uncharted 2 has Sold only 650,000 in the US... WTH? PS3 owners what's up?

It's been deemed the biggest title this generation by many critics. Others reckon that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves puts some of Hollywood's best movies to shame. It's universally agreed upon that the game has the best graphics on any console thus far and those who've played it can't seem to put Naughty Dog's latest effort down. Finally, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has won Game of The Year from the most watched video game award show around, a honor it truly deserves. So this question posed to gamers (PS3 owners in particular) is indeed valid. Do you guys buy the exclusive titles that you vigorously defend at all? Because if we're to go by Uncharted 2 sales numbers, the answer is a resounding no.

Talk what you will about the Xbox 360 exclusive titles, but the games sell like crazy. And to those who will imminently fire back with the played out rhetoric saying 'sales don't matter', it would be wise if you remember that if a game doesn't sell, then the studio behind the project lose big money hence not being able to do a sequel to the title; even if the game was great. Now we Know Uncharted 3 will definitely come our way eventually, the franchise on a whole has been a huge success to Naughty Dog and Sony, but there are 6-7 million PS3 owners in the United States alone, so what the hec? Let's take a look at some numbers shall we?

Citing November NPD results, Michael Pachter recently told CriticalGamer that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has sold only 650,000 copies in the U.S. thus far. Full data here, you'll realize Uncharted 2 did not even make the top 10 list. Again WTH? If I were some of you, I'd stop trolling websites defending PS3 exclusives because clearly all you do is run your mouthes and you don't back it up with actions. You constantly bash Xbox 360 owners accusing them of being Microsoft slaves because they buy games that could have been an "extension pack" according to some of you. However when Halo 3: ODST dropped, the title sold 2 million copies in just 2 weeks, with most of the sales coming from the United States... at least they support their console with deeds and not just empty words.

This may seem like a rant, but if indeed Uncharted 2 is one of the best titles on the PS3 like over 7 million of us U.S. PS3 owners claim, then why haven't you gone out and purchase the game? I have it, and it's great, so does over 2 million strong around the globe. But you all can obviously do better, or at least let those who've purchased the game talk it up. The rest of you should go out and get the title and only then will we take your words seriously.

Tough love.

  1. Freaking Greeat read!! I bought the game on day one, but unlike some of us, other PS3 owners, a lot of them don't buy the games!! shut up already if you're not going to support...

  2. I think the reason the 360 games such as halo left 4 dead and mf2 sell so well is because they have such a sound multiplayer. Alot of people will only by games if they know there will be replay value. With UC2 i was scepticle about the multiply and disapointed there was no offline multiplayer. I bought the game because i pretty much had to; i loved the first.i can understand why people would mearly hire it out.
If company's want their games to sell REALLY sell, well they need to make a name for themselves in the muliplayer area; that means -OFFLINE MULTIPLAY- something to play with your friends.
