On Friday night, after having dinner with my wife and some friends at the local IHOP, we left getting ready to drive home only to find that our car was gone. It was the most unreal experience I ever had because up to that point no one had stolen anything from me, so the jump from having none of your possessions to my car being robbed was major. But I'm not complaining. The cops came, they did their job and we're awaiting some results.
Yes, I did feel messed up, and every now and then my mind strays and suddenly I'm asking God why; after all it's a $23,000 car. But what I've come to realize is that God allow certain things to happen so we can be built up as stronger human beings. You might ask what does my car being wrongfully taken away from me have to do with personal growth, to which my answer will be I have no clue. But God's ways are above ours and I won't complain. There are millions of people around the world who don't know where their next meal will be coming from; my refrigerator is loaded.

There are a few situations in your life that will push you to the edge and and tempt you, even cause you to complain, but a quick look around and you'll suddenly realize that there a way more things to give thanks for. You have life and things can and will get better.
