Not many can remember when Alan Wake was announced; that's how long the title has been in the making, in fact speaking to EGTV managing director of Remedy Entertainment Matias Myllyrinne said jokingly, "some of your parents might remember when we initiated the project," he said. It's no joke for Xbox 360 owners who've been waiting on this title for years, however according Matias Remedy entertainment has been working tirelessly to make sure Alan Wake pans out be the blockbuster it should.
In an interview with EGTV Matias Mylllyrinne fielded some questions to which he gave honest answers:
EGTV: It's been in the works for a while... is the tech still up to scratch?
"Some of your parents might remember when we initiated the project (laughing) nah I mean seriously the tech's come a long way we've constantly kept improving and building on it and we, we already had a lot of good fundamentals there uh, very early on so our streaming technology was awesome - we've improved a lot of the um, kind of the gameplay related AI stuff and so fourth but also a lot of the rendering and the technical art stuff has gone, gone forward as you can probably tell from some of the trailers that we've released."
EGTV then asked how long has the game been in development to which he Matias answered:
"It's been since 2005 so it's - we've be crafting this thing and for us I mean we could've put something out much earlier to be honest uh, and it would've been probably okay, but for us um, we only want to come out with a game when we have something to say and a point to make so when gamers put down their hard earned cash on a game the Remedy brand on that box needs to be a seal of quality so they're getting a certain movie like experience with good story and a good character - that really is key for us."
Alan wake is shaping out to be a must buy for 360 owners and will also be available for PC. Expect it to hit the market spring 2010, see the full interview here.

ReplyDeleteYou are really comparing Alan Wake to "Too human"?
Please, think a bit.
what ? 2 360 games with a long development cycle that are/were way overhyped and will probably not/did not deliver, hmm sounds like a fair comparison 2 me :)
