Uncharted 2 is now the bestselling game on amazon

In four days, one of the greatest games ever made will be in your living rooms all across the world, and on amazon's bestsellers list, that game's now at the top spot.

Really, there's nothing more Sony and Naughty Dog could do; They've created a genre defining experience with Nathan Drake and his gang, they're advertising the living daylights out of the game, held events all across the globe to raise awareness, and now the only thing left is for gamers to go out and buy the it.

In the words of Mr. Drake himself, "what's that saying, Fortune favors the bold?" You got it right Drake, fortune does favor the bold, and the results are already showing.

Naughty Dog: "We were hoping for a [PS3] price cut forever"

Just like the millions of fans around the world waiting impatiently for a PS3 price cut, the Naughty Dog team were on that waiting list as well.

Speaking in an interview, multiplayer designer Justin Richmond was asked whether he was pleased with the recent PS3 price cut:

"We'd been hoping for a price cut forever, just as fans of PS3, but obviously we got really lucky. I think Christophe and Evan Knew but nobody else knew anything about it. And with the [Uncharted 2] bundles it's a pretty big win for us. We want to push PS3 as much as we possibly can. It's an awesome machine and we believe in it really strongly, so price cuts or whatever gets it into people's hands is what we want," he said.

Well Hallelujah, they're getting into people's hands by the millions as we speak, so Justin must be a happy man. Sony has really stepped up their game a hundredfold since the PS3 Slim was released, and with such momentum, it would take a massive, and I mean massive turn of events to steal the Hardware giant's thunder this Christmas.

PS3, Uncharted 2, and the dual shock 3 all dominate Amazon's top 5 best sellers list

Although Halo 3: ODST still is at the number one spot, it's now safe to say the Sony brand is back to it's former glory. And not just because a fluctuating chart on amazon says so, but rather, what is occurring around the globe. The PS3's on a roll, and Sony couldn't be more pleased.

A quick peak at amazon's best sellers list, and you'll see not only one or two, but three spots held by the Hardware giant. The dual shock 3 holds the number 2 spot, while Uncharted 2, and the PS3 slim holds the third and fourth spots respectively. As we said earlier, if you want to play Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for the holidays, you need to rush out and pick up a PS3 now. There might be shortages this Christmas. Hey, don't say we didn't warn you.

PS3 sells 1million units in three weeks

Sony has launched are new ad campaign in North America, Europe and Japan, the theme of the ad blitz is, 'it only does everything,' referring to the PS3. I'm not sure about everything but it certainly knows how to sell. While giving the keynote speech at the Tokyo Game Show this week, Playstation Boss Kaz Hirai said, the PS3 Slim has sold 1million copies in just three weeks. Now that's just impressive.

On September 1st 2009, Sony essentially relaunched its flagship console, with a new slimmer look, and most significantly, a slimmer price tag of $299. Ever since, gamers the world over have been purchasing the black behemoth at an fascinatingly fast pace. Things are going so good that, SCEA boss Jack Tretton warned of shortages at some retail outlets if demand remains at current levels.

Shortages or not, this must be good news for Sony execs who've been the recipients of endless negative stories concerning their leadership. Good riddance. By the look of things, the Sony brand has regained its swagger. Swag on then, just don't get too heady.

Why is it that the PS3 price cut is leaked early, but not Xbox 360's? Suspicions...

Months ago, before Sony ever gave a hint that a price cut was incoming, the rumors had already saturated the web. Bloggers and so-called competent websites alike were making so much noise about the elusive PS3 Slim and price cut that even if you were dead, you would've known about it. So obviously if you're aware of an inevitable price drop of what ever it is you want, if you have the patience, you will wait. It's that simple, no one would deny the fact. And then came this fake video that was presumably captured somewhere in the Philippines showing the PS3 Slim in action. Some anonymous gametrailers employee then says, "Sony can't keep leaks, this PS3 Slim is real."

The rumors have been deafening; and yet still, they won't stop coming. But with the recent rumor that Microsoft is set to drop the price of the Xbox 360 elite to $299 by the end of August to preempt Sony's own price cut, you wonder, did any body knew about this earlier, but because of whatever reason, failed to release the info. Seriously, is Sony this LOUSY at keeping secrets, or are there other aspects in play?

Gran Turismo 5 set to launch in December?

This game might just come sooner rather than later. Last week, PlaystationLifestyle reported that Amazon.com had listed GT5 for release on December 29th 2009. Well, according to GTPlanet, they have a "secret source" that debunks Amazone tentative date but, GT5 will be released this year.

According to them, this “unofficial but extremely reliable source,” says the date will most likely be announced in August at the 2009 GamesCom event in Cologne at Sony’s press conference. Then came the final teaser statement, “he’s making his list and checking it twice,” perhaps Gran Turismo 5 will be launched right around the Christmas rush? It is by far the biggest racing sim ever made, and if Sony releases it this holiday season, things will go wild.

Even better would be a GT5 PS3 Slim bundle. Think about it, along with a price cut, Sony could make millions of gamers the world over extremely happy campers to say the least. So what say you? Rumor: French website confirms PS3 Slim and Price cut

It’s just too hot to leave alone, isn’t it? But this time it seems as if we have credible news about the long rumored PS3 price cut, and new SKU, one PS3 Slim. French website JeuxVideo seems to have came across some information that solidifies this rumor. According to them, the price cut will be accompanied by a new model which Sony will announce at the GamesCom event in Cologne on August 18th, 2009. That’s only three weeks away folks! Asking Sony about this would be of no avail because they would use the same answer they always give, “we don’t comment on rumor and speculation.” but the evidence is now undeniable. It only makes sense that the giant would release the new PS3 and issue a price cut around that time, major exclusives like Uncharted: Among Thieves will be out, and the holidays are upon us, it seems like perfect timing.

The website also has an update which shows that the New model will retail for 299 Euros. It’s a rumor though, so please, take with a grain of salt. We will undoubtedly keep you in the loop, why? Well, it’s because we love you. I thought you knew that.
