Thirsty Conversations: Thanksgiving week hardware sales edition

Nintendo sold over 500,000 Wii this past Thanksgiving week, Sony sold 440,000 PS3s and Microsoft, well Microsoft tweeted this [Thanksgiving week] was the "biggest sales week of the year for Xbox 360," however the company hasn't released any numbers.

To me, the industry is in good shape even in this economic climate. Will the momentum continue through Christmas, or was it a one time Black Friday shopping frenzy?

Let's talk, do it here: The Official GamesThirst Talk Zone.

Thirsty Conversations: Saturday Edition

All days a beautiful. All are made by God. It might be raining in your neck of the woods, but that don't mean it's not a beautiful day; In fact while you grumble, some rejoice because of it.

You're wondering where I'm going with this right? Well sometimes things that are unpleasant happen to us, things that we don't know how to explain and we wonder why. The easiest route out is to complain right? Still it won't solve anything. But not today.

Today we're not going to talk about games, we do that everyday but rather we're going to pause and think. Have you ever wondered where you came from or who created you? If you haven't, it's a thought that should be at the forefront of your mind. Some may disagree but there is indeed a God, one who loves you more than you'll ever know and He's willing and able to see you through your problems.

So why don't you forget about games just for today, and go here to learn more. God bless you.

Xbox 360 Ban update

A warning to all modded Xbox360 owners out there, Microsoft is watching you. I spoke about this before in our thirsty conversations segment, MS has banned over 600k in the North America and 500k in the UK.

Now don't get me wrong; I know that games are expensive but look at the bigger picture behind this. Put yourself in the developers shoes. If you made a game and it took about 60 million dollars(Gran Tourismo 5) to develop, would you want somebody stealing your title and giving it out for free? come on lets respect their work and support them, and not pirate their games.

Thirsty Conversations: War of the top 10s edition

We've been creating top ten lists for a while now, see one here, and another there.

Yesterday however, things got a bit hot, we posted an article titled: "Top 10 PS3 exclusives Xbox 360 owners would die for" and we received the most comments ever posted on that article than any other in the past.

To add to the fuel, after Gaminbolt responded to our piece by compiling a top 8 list of their own, namely: "Top 8 Xbox 360 exclusives PS3 owners would die for." Yes they took the same title but that's okay, after all, it's a response.

Gamers from across the world shared their thoughts, and then came the occasional troll we had to eliminate, but all in all it was an extremely involving debate. But no, it's not over at all; you can continue debating here, The Official GamesThirst Talk Zone.

PC gamers are being shafted by Infinity Ward. They won't be getting dedicated servers, a component that's critical for any PC game with online play.

Of course it's not fair, but what should the ones getting burned do? Tell us here, The Official GamesThirst Talk Area.

Thirsty Conversation: Exclusive Games Edition

It's simple reasoning, games sell consoles and not vice-versa, so it should be a given that console makers Like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo build strong first party titles to make available content unique to their platforms. And they have, but one company has done a better job by building dozens of first party studios across the globe, giving said company the edge going into the Christmas shopping fever.

We think Sony is better positioned than any other company to dominate the holidays, but that's just our take, give yours here, The Official GamesThirst Talk Lounge.
